The purchaser is directed on a TLS secure payment page via the Web-merchant
's website. The Swissnet banner page informs the purchaser on his
purchase: presentation of the Web-merchant's name (which guarantees
that the trade was authenticated).
Seizure
of the card number, the expiration date and the visual cryptogram.
The connection between the purchaser and the Swissnet service is
established in HTTPS, protocol secured with TLS 1.0 (private key
RC4 128 bits, public key 1024 bits RSA, Verisign Secure Server Certificate
CA), which crypts the whole of the exchanged information.
This
security protects the data sent by Internet and guarantees to the
purchaser that its card number can not be intercepted in plain by
a third party during its transfer towards the secured Swissnet service.
In
this case, the following symbols are displayed according to the
Internet navigator type :

Each
transaction is associated with an authorization request carried
out within the electronic payment network, which checks that the
card exists, that it is not in opposition and that the account is
solvent.
If
the payment is accepted, Swissnet carries out then the following
operations :
- displaying the payment ticket on the purchaser's screen
- sending the payment ticket by e-mail to the purchaser and the
Web-merchant
- Up to date D+3, the amount of the transaction is carried to the
credit of the merchant's account
The
purchaser is then automatically redirected towards the Web-merchant's
website, where it can take again the course of his visit.
